liberated booty
“a liberated booty is a liberated being!” | movement for fertility wellness & creativity rejuvenation
How we move our bodies, and specifically how we move our fertile and creative center—the booty— translates in infinite ways to every other part of our lives. When there is fluid, abundant, and spirited movement in our booty, then the momentum of that energy ripples out in magical, powerful, and positive ways.
Liberated Booty is offered as a healing tool to aid in the restoration and cultivation of fertility radiance. Its accessible movement is a practical resource for all movers and shakers, and complements holistic approaches to reducing the prevalence of fibroids, creating greater balance for reproductive hormones, increasing intuitive awareness through conception, pregnancy, and birth, recovering from fertility trauma and pregnancy loss, reimagining future possibilities amidst infertility challenges, and gently restoring a mother’s vitality in the postpartum season.
Liberated Booty is also an effective practice for amplifying creativity and being able to identify what truly feels good and right for your body. The same space where we nurture our fertility is also where our creativity flourishes. Liberated Booty is really helpful for artists, writers, and others who might be feeling stagnant with a project, uninspired in their writing, mentally paralyzed with an important life decision, or struggling to take the final leap toward their wildest dreams.
Inside the dance, the muscles of liberation are stretched and strengthened, and this elasticity, both physically and emotionally, allows us to be more honest and present with who it is we really want to be and what it is we really want to create. Every glorious shimmy, every delightful roll of the hips, brings us closer to our own understanding of what we truly need to feel happy and free in this life, in this moment.

ringshout
Discover the abundance & power of an ancient african diasporic movement practice for prayer & manifestation
The ringshout is a counterclockwise, shuffling dance and prayer ritual that comes from the spiritual practices of enslaved Africans on plantations in the American South. Born out of a need to retain their ancestral belief systems and customs even though the white slave masters forbid them to do so, the ringshout served as an effective mask for their true intentions because to the unknowing observer they were just a bunch of slaves dancing, singing and clapping their hands. However, for those who understood, each rotation around the circle brought them a little closer to their gods, and suspended—if only for a breath—the horrors and tragedies of their current realities. Within its mighty spin the dancers were able to reimagine themselves as free people, and access a sense of power and possibility not physically tangible in their present moment.
Adapted for our modern times, the Ringshout movement practice expands on this process of embodying imagination, reinvention, and prayer and expressing those visions, feelings, and intentions through repetitive movements that are performed in a constant and rhythmic rotation. Through the dance we travel along the circular patterns of the ringshout and discover each movement as a point of reclaimed possibility for what we hope to shift or create in our futures.
We use the physical mantras of our bodies moving through the ringshout to amplify the deepest desires of our hearts. The ringshout is a place to dance and affirm our most audacious, most radical dreams. It is also a space to offer prayers for healing for ourselves or others who we know are navigating personal hardships.
The whole Ringshout session is practiced in the round. Sessions begin with gentle movement sequences and an introduction to the ringshout history and process. Participants are guided through movement generation activities and have multiple opportunities to practice creating and sharing their original movement offerings in the ringshout. The momentum and intensity of the dance grows as the rotations continue. By the end of the session, the ringshout process has expanded into a vigorous, heart-pumping, sweat-dripping workout that leaves everyone feeling more awakened in their bodies, more hopeful about the future, and more conscious of their power to engage their bodies in the realization of their dreams.

elements in motion
discover the magic of nature in your own radiant body
Connect to the majestic powers of Mother Earth through an intensive study and play of how our own natural elements of movement—bone, blood, breath, and heart—correspond to our planet’s organic properties and rhythms.
Choose the depth of your explorations through either a series of 4 or 12 sessions. We will journey through our collaborative energies as living beings moving on and with the dynamic dancing planet that we call home. Imagining ourselves as extensions of the Earth itself, we will use exploratory movement games, mindfulness exercises, and choreographic experiments to investigate our physical truths and find correlations between our planet and our bodies:
Trees, Mountains & Land—Bone: What is holding our bodies and our planet together? What keeps us from falling apart?
Oceans & Rivers—Blood: How do Earth’s oceans and rivers move and replenish themselves? How are we connected to these perpetual currents? If we too are made up of mostly water, what is the state of our own internal waters?
Sun, Fire & Volcanoes—Heart: How does the sun impact the Earth’s movements? How can we embody the orbit of the planet around the sun? What are the movements of our heart and circulatory system? What sustains our personal fire? What keeps us warm?
Wind & Rain—Breath: What similarities exist between the movements of the wind and the movements of our breath? How do cycles of evaporation and rain bring newness and change? What changes when we breathe? What can we move? What moves us?

birth dance
Prepare your body, heart & mind for a gentle, blissful labor & birth
As birthing mothers, an essential part of our process is learning how to dance our babies into the world. Birth is a profoundly physical miracle, and at the core of everything it takes to actualize this ancient and majestic labor is our bodies. It is for this reason that dancing is one of the most powerful and immediate resources we can access throughout the birthing journey.
A dynamic movement practice increases your receptivity to your constantly evolving needs as mother and baby when you are preparing for labor. Integrating dance into your everyday actions from early on in the pregnancy—and even from preconception—expands your range of motion throughout the body, supporting greater elasticity for the spine, hips, booty, and pelvic floor. A intentional movement practice sharpens your awareness of the breath and aids in deepening relaxation methods. Dancing creates ample opportunities for you to practice listening to yourself and your baby, thereby strengthening our intuition, confidence, and trust in ourselves for our sacred birth journey.
Birth Dance sessions give you a chance to discover authentic movement rituals that support you in your pregnancy and birthing season. Through guided dance exercises, gentle movement sequences, and personalized choreography, you will develop a sustainable, daily dance practice that grows with you throughout your entire birth journey.
