Before Mother Mother’s children were growing miraculously into their human stories, and before they were babies born of her body, and before she had language for herself as an afrofuturist bush mother, and before Wildseed even had its name, Mother Mother dreamed of nurturing a frequency of deep connection and presence with her children, and learning in a way that centered freedom, joy and curiosity.

Mother Mother offers curated, soft-time portals of engagement for curious folks who want to grow and enliven their family’s learning practices, archival systems and portfolio creation. Parents, educators, and leaders receive tailored support at their preferred pace, and expand their toolbox for navigating their sovereign learning programs with more joy, ease, and creativity. Mother Mother also hosts boutique workshops for small groups exploring innovative ways to integrate the Curious Seeds story building methodologies into their learning experiences.

WILDSEED FAMILY LEARNING LAB

The Dancing Mother Library features more than 2 decades of material from Mother Mother’s labors in dance, mothering, birthing, spaceholding, and more. In the Wildseed collection she shares pieces of the journey from living as an afrofuturist bush mama and raising her children “in the wild” where they can center freedom, joy, and curiosity as integral to all learning. Mother Mother offers deep reflections and personal evolutions with discovering kinetic learning, and takes us inside experiments and processes to design intelligent learning spaces for her children that support their natural need to move their bodies. Bountiful Booty Blessings

Just weeks after giving birth, Mother Mother is cradling her newborn in her arms and dancing with her older children. She invites the curious munchkins to dance with her as she explores gentle movements to recover her pelvic floor. She teaches her children how to swing their hips and roll their booty. The munchkins remember the gradual stages of their mother's recovery after birthing their new sibling. The movements invite deeper understanding about all the ways a mother's body must heal after a baby is born.

On Discovering why I’m Raising My Children in the Wild

Mother Mother traces the origins of her vision for Wildseed Family Learning Lab, and the conscious choices she made to water that dream from even before her children were born. She writes about the longrwinding processes of experimentation and discovery that are central to every Wildseed moment, and reflects on evolutions in her mothering life that opened up new possibilities for building her family learning lab. Mother Mother also contextualizes the activation of Wildseed as a natural expansion of her fertility consciousness and maternal intelligence.

CREATING WORLDS OF POSSIBILITY: OBSERVATIONS AND THOUGHTS ON KINETIC LEARNING

Mother Mother shares wisdom learned from years of witnessing her children engage their bodies as kinetic learners. She makes correlations between how things in nature move, and how essential it is for young people to move their bodies. Mother Mother also emphasizes how movement is the first signal of life, and that kinetic learners need space, time, and support to nurture their whole, vibrant lives.

Dancing Into the Mangrove

Mother Mother brings a story book about mangroves, one of her favorite tree systems, to life with movement and play with her children. Together they explore the elements of a mangrove with their bodies, and discover moments of solo and group dance creations along the way. This essay + film story documents the way Mother Mother engages an interactive, dialogic process with her children, and finds ways for children at multiple stages of literacy development to meaningfully engage each other in play and learning.

Curious Seeds is a story building space for parents raising learners in the wild, lush, freedom of life as it is. This is a soft-time circle for parents deepening into their family’s stories of learning and systems of creation. Curious Seeds is for those who are realizing that their stories can help them document their learning practices, and also seed new possibilities for themselves and their communities.
