We are dancing all the time…

These are archival photos, select moments, dance stories, short films, and moving picture reels of Mother Mother’s soft-time performances, space activations in public spaces, and featured writings about her performance work.

Oh Freedom

Mother Mother sings Mother Wah—’s song, Oh Freedom, and dances inside the long labors of Mother Wah—’s dreaming. Mother Wah— is one of Mother Mother’s ancestral mothers who is in bondage while crossing the Atlantic Ocean in the 18th century. Heart-sickened over the separation from her older children when they were kidnapped from the riverside, Mother Wah— defiantly clings to a thread of hope.
